During the Islamic holy month of Ramadan, Muslims fast by day, taking no food or water, sometimes in the middle of a long, hot summer. By night, families gather and eat, starting with breakfast at sundown. But this year, with inflated holiday prices and an ailing economy, many Egyptians are feeling the strain. VOA’s Heather Murdock and Hamada Elrasam have more from Cairo.
