Grenade Explodes at Malaysian Cafe

Eight people were injured when a grenade exploded at a Malaysian cafe early Tuesday, while patrons were up late watching Euro 2016 soccer games.

Police have not yet established a motive for the incident, but they have ruled out terrorism, indicating instead that it may be the result of a personal or business feud.

"We are still investigating who the suspects are, but the motives could be business rivalry, revenge, or one or more of the victims could have been a target," said Abdul Rahim Jaafar, deputy police chief for the state of Selangor.

Rahim confirmed that the explosion was caused by a hand grenade.

A staff member at the Movida bar in Puchong, a town on the outskirts of the capital, Kuala Lumpur, said around 20 patrons were watching the Round of 16 match between Italy and Spain when the attack occurred.
